Cell Viability, Proliferation and Death

thum_resources_04.png

Conventional cytotoxicity assays require staining or fixation that limit continuous observation of live cells. Holotomography enables real-time, label-free 3D monitoring of cell death progression with quantitative measurements of morphology and dry mass. This note covers multiple cell death models and demonstrates how HT supports both qualitative visualization and quantitative analysis without sample perturbation.

- Label-free time-lapse observation of apoptosis (HeLa) and necrosis (hepatocytes; Huh-7)
- Quantitative morphological profiling of SH-SY5Y cells in a Parkinson's disease model using RI, dry mass, and sphericity
- Monitoring of photosensitizer (IQ compound)-induced cell death under blue LED irradiation
- Step-by-step suggested workflow for cytotoxicity and cell viability studies
