Color-coded projection of HT image

In order to improve the visualization of our 3D organoid structure in label-free imaging, we employed an adaptation of the Sobel image filter – a well-known image processing technique for accentuating edges in an image.

Specifically, we filtered the gradient images produced by the Sobel filter and color-coded them according to their depth. Subsequently, we projected the maximum value of the resulting colored gradient image in the z direction.

This methodology enabled us to gain a more detailed and informative representation of our 3D organoid structure.
